You've just taken plates to a table and on your way back another customer asks for the bill, another would like some salt, the kitchen have food ready to take out, a customer is waiting to pay at the till and new customers have just come in. Requirements In this role you will be working in a high-class tearoom and bistro serving clientele looking for a high standard of food and service. Customer service is paramount along a passion for extreme quality and great service delivery. – nothing should ever be too much trouble. You will have a real pride and passion for what you do. This role requires you to: • Provide the highest-class customer service consistently. • Be proactive in delivering a memorable experience to all our customers. • Have a can-do attitude • Be a friendly & courteous team player • Flexible and hardworking, always leading by example • Reliable and honest • Enjoy working in a team • Prepare tables for meals including silverware and napkins. • Greet guests in a professional manner and provide education about the food and beverage, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods as well as allergen information. • Present menus, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages and food to the guests. • Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving to a guest. • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return. • Clear and clean tables promptly according to sanitation standards • Perform any reasonable duties as required from time to time in order to contribute to the achievement of the business aims and objectives • Keep yourself aware of new promotions, menu changes, system or equipment changes, new procedures, policy changes, and company development. • Participate fully in all meetings, training and forums • Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time • Be able to safely lift and carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks • Must possess the ability to recognise a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure • Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed. • Be willing to work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others Ideally you will already have previous experience from a high paced environment. Attention to detail, energy and a big smile are a necessity. Part time work between 10am – 6pm Monday – Sunday Successful candidates will be required to do an initial short unpaid trial shift to determine suitability. If successful after that then a one week paid trial will be required to determine compatibility within the team and ability to learn the job. It is important that the right people fit into our family.
