We visited last night as a pre theatre treat and it did not disappoint... Extremely pleasant and helpful staff.. Lovely tea and toasted caramelised sandwich with salad and crisps. Beautiful surroundings and great music. Fantastic venue and very convenient for all of the major attractions and transport. We will definitely be visiting again and have recommended to friends and family.

We went to Josephine's for tea today and it was excellent. The tea room is in a great location, beautiful inside with a lovely ambience and background music. We were greeted by and served by Elaine who was first class, she knew the menu inside out and upside down and recommended daily specials etc etc The homemade soup was delicious, the tortilla and panini wraps were scrumptious and wine and beverages washed it all down. We shall return for Afternoon Tea one day, and am sure we wont be disappointed !!! Thanks again Elaine.

Popped in after the theatre yesterday and was very impressed. Lovely decor, music and staff. The cakes my husband and I chose were beautifully presented. Will definitely be back, looking forward to trying the hot lunches.

We were very happy with our lunch and the atmosphere of the café. The music was muted and suitable to the clientele and the service was friendly and efficient with knowledgeable staff. The pies were delicious and served with tasty potatoes and green peas cooked just right. There was a wide range of teas on offer in generous sized pots with loose leaf tea. I could have wished for skimmed milk with my Earl Grey tea but that is a very slight point. It was very refreshing to have a lunch out at a reasonable price offered without chips.

We arrived early for the theatre and decided to take a (very) short walk. Came across the tearoom - pondered (not quite sure what it would be like), walked on then went back and very pleased we did. Staff all very friendly, seats comfortable and food straightforward, uncomplicated. tasty, beautifully presented. The mini ham and mushroom quiche with salad (including salad potatoes) was really nice and just the right size for a pre-theatre 'meal'. I am told that the traditional ploughman's was good (he'd have preferred a roll to the slices of bread) and he was quite ecstatic about the Coffee cake with double cream! in future we'll schedule a visit to Josephine's when we plan our theatre visits. Have just read that it has only recently opened - we wish it the success it deserves.

Note from management: Wow - thank you so much, I believe I remember you both coming in. A lovely couple and we're all delighted you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again.
